Visual Stress Test

Take our Visual Stress quiz (below) to see whether you have any traits of Visual Stress.

Disclaimer

Exceptional Individuals is not a medical or clinical organisation.
Terms such as “Irlen Syndrome”, “Visual Stress”, or “Meares–Irlen” are informal, non-medically recognised descriptions sometimes used in online communities to discuss visual discomfort or reading difficulty.

These terms are not official diagnoses recognised by the NHS, optometrists, or medical regulatory bodies.
This quiz is not a diagnostic tool and cannot confirm whether you “have” a condition.

If you are experiencing persistent visual difficulties, headaches, or reading challenges, please contact an optometrist, GP, or regulated eye-care professional.

Do you have any traits of Visual Stress?

Our Visual Stress quiz helps to see if you have any traits of Visual Stress. There are a number of questions throughout the quiz that ask you questions regarding how you perceive things, and other areas.

Please note that the quiz is just to see if you have any traits of Irlen Syndrome- it does not diagnose Visual Stress. Unfortunately, we don't have the capabilities to offer diagnosis. If you score highly on the Visual Stress quiz, we would recommend speaking to your GP.

Visual Stress diagnosis

If you experience visual discomfort, you may wish to speak with your GP or an optometrist. Private assessment services are available but are not regulated in the same way as NHS-provided care. EI does not endorse any particular provider.
This quiz is for general information only. It does not provide a medical diagnosis. If you are experiencing visual symptoms (e.g., headaches, tired eyes, reading difficulties) you should consult your GP or a qualified optometrist before exploring private assessments or treatments
