At Exceptional Individuals, we provide Workplace Needs Assessments for people with ADHD that require support in their job.
How do ADHD Workplace Needs Assessments work?
ADHD Workplace Needs Assessments are impartial assessments relating to work performance, circumstances and adjustments based on your ADHD related challenges. The assessment’s objective is to find solutions to support with day to day tasks which can be a barrier as a result of your ADHD.
A report of findings will outline challenges and identify if there are any reasonable adjustments that would improve your working life.
For example, if focus is a challenge and you find it hard to follow in meetings, planning techniques or 1-2-1 mentoring sessions to limit distractions may be of benefit. We can also outline if technology, such as a digital recorder or a smartpen, will ease the issue.
These suggestions are provided as recommendations, which we will also then continue to help you and your employer implement.
If you are an employee with AD(H)D, the assessment is free for you. Your employer should cover the costs of implementing our recommendations but may be offered financial support through the Access to Work Scheme.
Access to Work provides grants to cover, or share, the costs of the support, depending on how recently the employee was hired and the size of your company. For more information on how the costing works, give us a call on 0208 133 6046.
What happens in Workplace Needs Assessments?
1) Book a Workplace Needs Assessment:
To book, fill in the form below, providing details about yourself, your employer and your neurodiversity.
2) Arrange a time and date for the assessment:
After requesting a needs assessment, we will be in touch to arrange a time that suits you and your employer for your assessment.
3) Have the assessment:
We will then visit you and assess your workplace. These usually take an hour or two, checking everything from your technology, to your seating arrangements.
4) Receive your report and recommendations:
Following the visit, we will write up a report, with recommendations on what reasonable adjustments may benefit you. We can discuss this with your manager, or leave that part to you.
5) Apply recommendations to workplace:
After we have created the report, we will then support you with applying the recommendations. If you need funding for the adjustments, we may be able to receive funding from the government via the Access to Work scheme.
